Winslow Homer produced hundreds of paintings, watercolors, and prints. His career spanned over five decades, from Civil War illustrations in the 1860s to late seascapes in the early 1900s. This painting belongs to his late period, when he was living in Prouts Neck, Maine, and obsessively painting the sea in all its moods.

Built by hand from start to finish, using archival canvas and a plaster relief frame cast from a mold of a rare antique original. It carries a bit of that old-world studio energy, the kind that doesn’t try too hard but still manages to shift the mood of a space just by being there.

• Plaster relief frame, hand-poured and finished in a vintage patina. Cast from a rare antique original and unique to this studio.
• Made with Hydrostone plaster, a mineral-based material rather than petroleum-based resin. It’s biodegradable and doesn’t stick around like plastic.
• Two finishes available:
Aged gold with a real metal finish applied in the mold for a warm, heirloom feel. Finished with hand-buffed antique wax for a museum-quality low luster.
Classic black with pigment mixed directly into the plaster for a deep, matte look that won’t chip or flake.
• At 1.8 lbs, it has a satisfying bit of weight to it and feels solid rather than delicate, with pre-installed hanging hardware so it’s easy to hang.
