Sunlight and Shadow by Winslow Homer (c.1872). A woman lounges in a hammock, draped in layers of structured fabric and looking like she just wandered out of a formal portrait session and into a Pinterest-perfect summer day. This is her idea of leisure wear: ruffles, high collars, and approximately seventeen buttons. She’s holding a book, presumably to read, but possibly just to look even more composed. It’s elegant, ridiculous and a completely different reality - my typical reading outfit consists of a cat t-shirt and some old jogging pants. I have never jogged.
This miniature antique oil painting reproduction is printed on archival canvas and paired with a handcrafted frame made using a mold from a 19th-century antique. Finished in-studio to capture the texture and patina of a real vintage frame. All the beauty of an heirloom without having to inherit it. It’s beautiful I love it!! Just as pictured. It’s a little heavy but I’m hoping it will be okay. I’m sure I will purchase more in the future. The packaging was ver elegant as well.
