Small framed canvas print, handmade to look like a Victorian-era antique oil painting. This frame is a faithful reproduction of an 1800's Victorian frame. Plaster is poured into a silicone mold made from the one-of-a-kind original frame. Every detail has been captured in the mold, producing a copy that includes the fine cracks and worn details of the original, to make a truly antique looking frame. The print is on beautifully textured 100% cotton canvas. Like a real framed oil painting, there is no glass; the canvas is stretched and the back of the canvas is visible from the back of the frame. The canvas is coated with a satin sealant to replicate the sheen of an oil painting. You can now get the look and charm of a real antique painting at a more affordable price.
I use Hydrocal, a very strong plaster, to make the frame. I do not use resin as resin is a type of plastic. Plaster is natural, non-toxic and environmentally-friendly. The frame is strong and will not break easily, but it should be handled with care, just as you would a real antique frame. It is a bit heavier then a wood frame, but still light at two pounds. On the back of the frame is an embedded brass hanger, to hang with an included brass-head European picture pin.
The gold finish is a real metallic coating that is added to the mold before plaster is poured. The gold finish is then antiqued and toned to match the original gold frame. The black frame is hand painted and has a slightly reflective shine but overall matte appearance.
All of the paintings I reproduce are works that are in the public domain, and all credit is given to the artists. Because I think it is important to do these artists the honor of acknowledging their work, each print comes with a card providing the artists name, as well as the name and date of the artwork.
Every artwork is packaged in a custom-made gift box that doesn't require additional wrapping, should you wish to gift the artwork. The gift box is then packaged in a shipping box, to ensure a safe arrival. Packaging is 100% plastic free. Instructions and the artwork information are provided in a beautifully printed glassine envelope on the front of the gift box.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you make your poster hangers with brass hardware instead of magnets?
Gluing metal to wood is notoriously difficult and requires some heavy duty toxic glue to get them to stay firmly in place. Even then the magnets are not likely to stay glued as wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with the heat and moisture. Eventually they will fall out and then all you are left with are some sticks! Additionally, magnets can lose their strength over time. Brass hardware will never fail.
Wholesale availability
I do not offer wholesale as I find that business model works best for mass produced goods and my products are not mass produced! I am a one person shop so I prefer to offer my best price all the time to everyone.
Are your wood hanging frames handmade?
Yes! I make my frames with materials sourced from North America that are handmade by me in my workshop.
