✷ ARTWORK

Mute Swan by Aert Schouman (c.1760).
This swan isn’t paddling across a lake or preening in a sunlit pond - it’s a cosmic-level swan drama, gliding through existential nothingness, glowing white against a void-black background. The contrast is sharp, the vibes are mysterious, and the swan is both elegant and serene. It is also 266 years old.

✷ HANDCRAFTED DETAILS

Every part of this is intentional. The textured art paper is archival, the frame is a plaster relief cast from a mold created from a rare antique original, and the whole thing is made by hand. It has that quiet, slightly mysterious quality of something that feels older than it technically is.

• Archival textured art paper print (museum-quality, fade-resistant).
• Plaster relief frame, hand-poured, and finished in a vintage patina. Hydrostone plaster is made from mineral-based materials, not petroleum, and it’s biodegradable instead of persisting like plastic resins.
•Two finishes available: Aged gold, created with a real metal finish applied in the mold for warm, heirloom vibes, or classic black, with pigment mixed directly into the plaster for a deep, matte look that won’t chip or flake.
• At 2 lbs, it has a satisfying bit of weight to it and feels solid rather than delicate, with pre-installed hanging hardware so it’s easy to hang.

✷ THOUGHTFUL EXTRAS

• A removable Swiss lithograph art card (early 20th-century, collectible designs. Yours will be chosen at random unless you request a specific one!).
• A picture pin and artist card with painting details.

✷ PERFECT FOR:

• lovers of bold contrast and unapologetic elegance

Reviews

The painting is so lovely and the frame makes it extra special . It came beautifully wrapped . I would highly recommend . Thank you .

Ok, I have been writing this review in my mind since I received this gorgeous painting. I cannot possibly say enough about how beautiful and unique this shop and her work is. The painting itself is amazing. All that was pictured and described and so much more. The frame is quality, guys. Heavy and solid. It is exactly as she said- an heirloom you don’t have to inherit. And the cards! I am completely obsessed, as they are treasures in their own right. These do exactly what art is meant to- captivate, transport, and inspire. What a source of true beauty! The swan is in my reading nook, and I may or may not have given her a name. This is absolutely one of the nicest things this lifelong Etsy user has ever discovered here. 💕

Well packaged! Beautiful frame ! It is great dealing with the seller. You won’t be disappointed.

Just as described and arrived in a timely manner. I love it.

Beautiful addition to our library. It’s a very elegant yet versatile piece of art that exceeds expectations.
